Mr. Valentino founded Corporate Counsel Group LLP. He has comprehensive commercial real estate advisory experience, including extensive experience in the negotiation, due diligence and closing of debt acquisitions and sales, commercial real estate workouts, acquisitions and dispositions, office and retail leasing, real estate secured lending, construction and redevelopment, strategic planning and partnership formation.
Experience
- Since 1992, Mr. Valentino has developed an expertise in the documentation, negotiation, due diligence review and closing of performing, sub-performing and non-performing debt acquisitions and real estate workouts. These transactions often lead to fee ownership by clients through workout arrangements, which then require asset management including leasing, refinancing, construction renovations and sales.
- Mr. Valentino’s experience includes advising clients who have closed transactions with large institutions, including Capmark, Goldman Sachs (Archon Group), GE Capital, Deutsche Bank, Prudential, Met Life, and Morgan Stanley.
- Prior to joining CCG, Mr. Valentino developed his real estate law and corporate experience with Procopio, Cory, Hargreaves & Savitch, one of San Diego’s leading law firms, and Jennings, Engstrand & Henrikson. He also served as vice president and general counsel of a southern California based real estate investment firm active in the acquisition and disposition of debt secured by commercial real estate assets.
- In addition to his legal experience, Mr. Valentino previously served as a senior professional with several investment banks. His practice areas have included public finance, mergers and acquisitions, strategic partnering and venture financings. Mr. Valentino began his career in New York with Merrill Lynch Capital Market’s Public Finance Investment Banking Group, where he managed more than $1 billion in senior managed financings. He was also a Managing Director for San Francisco-based Neveric Capital Inc. (now Viant Group LLC) where he focused on private equity transactions for healthcare growth companies.
